"In water lies salvation; it is the simplest, cheapest and - properly applied - the safest remedy". Sebastian Kneipp
Have you ever heard of water therapy or water cure? Then you surely know Sebastian Kneipp and his Kneipp treatments.
An old hat? No way! Whether it's a way to fall asleep or wake up, a natural face lift or a circulation boost - Kneipp knew how to do it even back then.
Kneipp medicine (Kneipp therapy) is based on a concept of Father Sebastian Kneipp (1821-1897) and is based on 5 pillars:
Kneipp water therapy activates the metabolism, stabilizes the circulation and stimulates the immune system.
The Kneipp effect is scientifically verified
Scientists from the University of Jena have clearly proven the effectiveness in studies: The cold castings according to Kneipp are an intense stimulus for the body and thus strengthen the defenses. For hardening, it is sufficient to carry out the castings on individual parts of the body.
There are several ways of application - one of them is treading water, as you can do it in our Kneipp facility.
The cold stimuli on the legs promote the immune system. To do this, first dip the right foot, far from the heart, into the water, starting with the tips of the feet. After each step, pull the foot completely out of the water again. This causes an interaction of warm and cold.
The thermal stimulus causes the blood vessels to contract, which has a pain-relieving effect on the nerve endings and increases blood circulation as well as the removal of pain messengers from the tissue via the lymphatic channels.
With regular use, this can also permanently increase low blood pressure and relieve pain.
After the cold shock, the muscles produce heat again, the vessels dilate and the blood rushes through the veins. This also trains the immune system. The only thing you shouldn't do is get really cold, as this would weaken the organism again. Three to a maximum of five minutes per application are enough.
Kneipp's water jets also help against insomnia. The cold water pours reduce the body temperature and this helps to fall asleep. That is why you sleep better in cool rooms or with an open window.
