Grandparents

Grandpa Gustl loves his stable - but especially his Haflingers, which he also breeds with pride. A carriage ride with him is fun for everyone.

Grandma Rosi is a certified herbalist and will gladly take you out into nature to explore herbs and their effectiveness. From this there are then also delicacies at the organic breakfast buffet, which our grandma will be happy to prepare for you.

Parents

Michael is responsible for all crafts and sports in the house. He is a certified cross-country skiing instructor, mountain bike guide, Nordic walking instructor, mountain hiking guide and carpenter. For riding lessons he has the trainings Febs and Grips according to Dell' mour and is a certified trail riding guide.

He is happy to give you good tips.

Margreth is in the office and responsible for the well-being of the guests.

She is a qualified hotel manager and medical masseuse. She always has an open ear for their wishes.

Children

Our son Mika (born 2005) has completed his A-levels and is currently working at the farm.

Our 2nd son Tim (born 2007) attends the uppersecondary school in Telfs.

Our farm chronicle

In the year 1540 a LEITER is mentioned for the first time in a document in the ÖTZTAL.

Only 24 years later, a Hannsn LEITER appears in 1564 in NIEDERTHAY. Shortly before this time, two LEITER brothers, Michael and Hans, must have come to Niederthay and married farmers' daughters living there.

According to the family legend, the LEITER came over the Joch, Gleirschjoch from Sellrain. The family name LEITER comes from the one who lives on the slope (Leiten).

In any case, the first LEITER in NIEDERTHAY came to the new homeland with money and knowledge. Because within 1 generation these LEITER owned 8 houses in NIEDERTHAY and provided the village ruler (mayor).

Our hamlet name "VIECHTAW" appears for the first time in documents in the feudal contract in the 5th line on September 1, 1299: " That happened from Christ's birth were a thousand and two hundred years in the ninth and ninetieth year on Saint Egidie's Day."

From 1599 there is a 3rd LEITER tribe in Niederthay- from this tribe in 14th generation, 11 of them at Höfle- come our ancestors.

August (Gustl), was born in 1948 as the 11th of 13 children, at Höfle "VIECHTAW".

In 1966 Gustl -18 years old, took over the farm after a rock fall.

1970 one could move into the today existing house, with 20 guest beds.

In November 1974 there was another rockslide at the Höfle and thereupon the protective dams were built.
