And after an adventurous day in the snow, we welcome you to our cozy organic pension the Veitenhof, where you can relax and recharge your batteries for the next day.

Let yourself be enchanted by the dreamlike sight of the alpine panorama while the snow crunches quietly under your cross-country skis: in the Ötztal valley you can conquer a total of 22 cross-country ski trail kilometers in this way! From easy to difficult trails, the Tyrolean valley offers beginners and professionals alike an exciting winter vacation. Niederthai's location at 1,550 m above sea level guarantees snow from mid-December to early April: so you have plenty of opportunity to indulge in winter sports. 

Countless cross-country trails ensure unlimited cross-country skiing fun in the Ötztal valley

In the skiing areas of Sölden-Hochsölden as well as Obergurgl-Hochgurgl there are numerous cross-country skiing trails for every level. Circuits, high-altitude trails and leisurely routes for the whole family are available. Here's an insider tip: combine cross-country skiing in Längenfeld, only seven kilometers away (about 40 kilometers of trails), with a visit to the "Aqua Dome" thermal spa. From the cross-country trail directly into the pleasantly hot thermal water - that is pure winter pleasure! The cross-country skiing offer in the Ötztal includes in total:

• Sonnenplateau trail: 3 km, easy, skating and classic
• Horlachtalloipe: 3,23 km, 70 hm, medium, skating and classic
• Matau trail: 2.08 km, 40 hm, medium, skating and classic
• Matau feeder: 0,97km, 30 hm, medium, classic
• Tauferbergloipe: 2,26 km, 90 hm, difficult, skating and classic
• Loipe Lehen: 0,66 km, easy, classic and skating
• Tellerboden trail (also night trail): 1.31 km, 10 hm, easy, classic and skating
• Frühloipe (also night trail): 1.05 km, medium, classic and skating.
• Certified cross-country ski instructor Michael in the house
• Cross-country ski school and ski rental in Niederthai
• Night cross-country skiing on the Sonnenplateau trail from Monday to Friday from 5 to 10 p.m.
• Cross-country skiing taster biathlon every Thursday and Sunday from 1 to 3 pm with professional supervision by the Sportschützengilde (1x free for Niederthai Card holders).
