Even in our furnishings, we prioritize environmental friendliness.
We avoid harmful paints and varnishes wherever possible and prefer natural wooden furniture made in Germany.

The bed linens and towels in the bathroom are made from organic cotton. The shower gel from Speick Thermal (BDIH certified) comes from refillable dispensers, and when you plug in your hairdryer or laptop, green electricity flows through the cable. We only use environmentally friendly organic cleaning products for room maintenance.

Of course, our commitment to organic extends to breakfast as well. All ingredients on the breakfast buffet come from organic farming, and this also applies to the coffee and tea next to the kettle. You can find more about our organic philosophy under Why Organic?

Note: from December 20 - Stricter measures

Basically, upon entry from all countries (including EU/EEA/Switzerland), the "2G+ rule" applies – meaning you must be vaccinated or recovered AND additionally carry a negative PCR test (max. 72 hours old).

Individuals who DO NOT fulfill 2G+ (i.e., are vaccinated or recovered but do not carry a negative PCR test upon entry) must complete an entry registration and enter quarantine. This quarantine can be terminated at any time as soon as a negative PCR test is available. You can take this PCR test with us for free.

Individuals who do not meet 2G criteria (i.e., are neither vaccinated nor recovered) must also complete an entry registration and enter quarantine. This quarantine can be ended no earlier than on the 5th day with a negative PCR test.

Exceptions:

The requirement to additionally provide a PCR test along with 2G status does not apply to individuals who have received a “booster vaccine.” These individuals can enter without registration and without quarantine as before.

Exempt from the 2G rule are:

Pregnant individuals (medical certificate and negative PCR test required)
Individuals who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons (medical certificate and negative PCR test required)

Regulations for Children

Children up to the age of twelve do not need to fulfill the 2G rule (therefore do not need to be vaccinated or recovered) and do not require a PCR test when traveling under the supervision of an adult. The corresponding proof from the adult extends to the minors. Additional regulations for minors apply equally to the accompanying adult. If the adult must enter quarantine, so must the minor. The same applies to any registration requirements.

Regulations for children aged 12 to 15: For individuals of school age, the Corona Test Pass or Ninja Pass serves as proof of a low epidemiological risk.

For foreign minors of school age, an exception is made whereby compliance with the testing intervals of the “Ninja Pass” is considered equivalent to proof of a low epidemiological risk. Therefore, school-age children do not need to fulfill the 2G+ rule but can enter with a test certificate (PCR or antigen test) – however, the further testing intervals according to the Ninja Pass must be observed.

For the winter season 2021/22, the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Regions, and Tourism, together with the Austrian Economic Chamber, has initiated the Holiday-Ninja-Pass, modeled after the Austrian School Ninja Pass (Corona test pass under the COVID-19 School Regulation 2021/22). The Holiday-Ninja-Pass is an exception to the 2G proof for non- or partially vaccinated youths of school age (from 12 to 15 years) from both domestic and foreign countries.

For vaccinated and recovered individuals (2-G rule), staying in Ötztal is once again possible. The "Green Pass" and FFP2 mask serve as keys for access to:

the accommodation
the purchase of ski tickets, sledding tickets
the sports store and all retail establishments including grocery stores
the restaurant, ski lodge
all indoor recreational facilities such as the AQUA DOME thermal spa, Freizeit Arena, 007 ELEMENTS, Top Mountain Motorcycle Museum, Ötztal Museums, the Nature Park House, etc.
public transport/bus

New regulations in nightlife

the closing time from 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM.
Après-ski venues and nightlife can open, provided that the consumption of drinks occurs at the seat.
Live music and DJs are allowed. The rules of gastronomy apply.
A special solution for New Year's Eve is being developed.

Update: Children aged 12-15

For individuals subject to general school attendance = children up to the completed 15th year of life, in school-free periods, an exception applies (ends on the 16th birthday). These individuals must be tested regularly in the respective week (at least 2 antigen tests and 1 PCR test). If the testing intervals are adhered to, this is considered equivalent to a 2-G proof. This regulation also applies analogously to individuals not permanently residing in Austria = vacationers.

Learn cross-country skiing from a state-certified instructor. Afterward, unwind in our sauna, in the infrared cabin, or treat yourself and your muscles to a well-deserved massage.

Cancellation Conditions in Corona Times

Our Money-Back Guarantee:

In case of border closures, government-imposed hotel closures, or a new lockdown by the government, we offer you, our guests, the following alternatives:

1.) You can reschedule your holiday at the Veitenhof to a different period. In this case, the deposit would remain with us and be used for the newly booked holiday.

2.) You can cancel your holiday with us free of charge. In this case, we will promptly refund the deposit you have made.

In case of border closures by the government during your holiday at the Veitenhof, you can of course leave at any time, and the remaining booked days will be canceled free of charge.

And if you cannot start your well-deserved vacation because

you become infected with Corona,
you test positive for COVID,
you have a fever - confirmed by a doctor (even if a later test result is negative)
or you must quarantine as a K1 or K2 contact person,

then we recommend the Hotel Cancellation Plus or Premium from the European Travel Insurance, which covers these cases despite the pandemic. The special coverage for Corona despite the pandemic and without additional costs can be found here in detail.
