Ecology & Sustainability at Veitenhof 

Enjoy your vacation in the Ötztal with a clear conscience. Daily, we experience the beautiful and breathtaking Ötztal mountain world and understand how precious a healthy environment is. This is why we feel committed to future generations to protect our environment and act in a resource-saving manner.

At the Veitenhof apartment and organic farm, we also pay attention to the sustainable use of natural resources. For us, sustainability is not just an empty phrase – we live it. 

Our Contribution to Sustainability:

• Our natural areas around the house are well-maintained, allowing our trees & shrubs to bind approximately one ton of CO₂ per year.
• Through our thermal building renovation in 2018, we reduce our annual CO₂ emissions by 51.44 tons.
• All apartments are constructed with renewable and natural building materials (primarily wood). Some interior walls are finished with clay plaster and many are adorned with Swiss stone pine from our own forest. 
• For the exterior facade, we have used untreated pine wood.
• We generate a cozy warmth in the house using 70% wood, and a solar system provides warm water.
• We already source 100% of our electricity from renewable energy. Our own photovoltaic system has been on the roof since November 2022, producing about 25,000 kWh per year.
• Waste recycling is carefully managed.
• Cleaning without chemicals – we clean exclusively with 180° hot dry steam, without any cleaning agents.
• Water-saving showerheads and toilets – a mindful approach to our most vital resource.
• Energy-saving lighting throughout the house – light with responsibility.
• We purchase our food in organic quality and from local sources. Guests can donate opened or uneaten food to us.
• We also consider ecology while traveling. We offer E-charging stations for your electric cars with power from 100% renewable energy.
• Our organic farming and the products derived from it, such as creams, teas, liqueurs, St. John's wort oil, and more, highlight the sustainable focus of the Veitenhof.

Niederthai Natural Water

Our mountain spring water originates from the Larstigtal and flows throughout the Bio & Riding Farm of Veitenhof. Renowned for its exceptional mineral composition and energy, it is particularly healthy and available to all our guests 24/7. You will find it fresh and chilled at our water dispenser in the lounge. There, you can choose between still water or soda water. Of course, you can also simply turn on the tap in your apartment and enjoy it!

There is plenty of natural water at Veitenhof, available to you at any time. We charge only 1,- euro per apartment per day as a small treat for this. Drinking water is healthy!
